Artists should be able to find their own money.

A trace is a chain of intermediaries. This instrument names every one of them and its published cut, then answers the only question that decides whether the naming was worth your afternoon: does this chain end in a primary record you can claim against, or does it end in a dead end?

Six of the nine trails below end in bad news. They are here anyway, stated plainly, because being told you are owed money that no registry will ever pay you is worse than being told nothing.
